An exploration of origin and spiritual expedition, When I Get Home by Solange Knowles confronts how much of us have we taken or left behind in our evolutions, and how much fear determines this? The artist returned to her home state of Texas to answer this through an expedition of a futurist rodeo uplifting the narrative of black cowboys and honouring her Houston lineage through this visual meditation.

The extended version of the film is screened exclusively from 17 July 2019 across partner institutions in USA and Europe. For full listings and free screenings see BlackPlanet and WePresent for further information.

Running time is 41 minutes. Tickets are limited to two per person and only a small number will be available on the door.

Please arrive in good time as your ticket will be reallocated if you have not arrived 10 minutes before the screening start time. Latecomers will not be admitted.

The full programme for August’s Friday Late will be published on 23 August 2019.
