An exploration of origin and spiritual expedition, When I Get Home by Solange Knowles confronts how much of us have we taken or left behind in our evolutions, and how much fear determines this? The artist returned to her home state of Texas to answer this through an expedition of a futurist rodeo uplifting the narrative of black cowboys and honouring her Houston lineage through this visual meditation.

The extended version of the film is screened exclusively from 17 July 2019 across partner institutions in USA and Europe. For full listings and free screenings see BlackPlanet and WePresent for further information.

Please note, advance tickets for these screenings have sold out and only a limited number are available on the door. If you have a ticket, please collect a wristband in Room 25 and arrive at the Lecture theatre 15 minutes before the screening starts. Entrance to the Lecture Theatre is via Room 69. Latecomers will not be admitted and your ticket will be reallocated. Door tickets will be released at 18.30 outside the Lecture Theatre for all three screenings.
