Dr Barbara Jatta was appointed in 2017 by late Pope Francis to look after the stunning collections of the Vatican Museums. Established in 1506, it includes the most canonical work of Western European art - The Sistine Chapel - as well as some iconic sculptures, paintings, maps, silver, micromosaics and more. Welcoming 6.8 million people, it is the second most visited art museum in the world after the Louvre. During this lecture, Dr Jatta will focus specifically on how she will bring her fresh vision and ambition to this historic institution.
