Up Close: Jewish Material Culture from the Middle East and North Africa photo
Join us in the heart of V&A East Storehouse to explore objects of Jewish origin from the V&A’s Middle East and North Africa collections.

Get up close to intricately embroidered textiles from Iraq, silk shoes worn by Moroccan brides, and delicate silver jewellery and protective amulets from Yemen and Algeria. These objects offer glimpses into the everyday lives, ceremonies, and artistic traditions of Jewish communities across continents.

Meet V&A curators and discover the stories these objects hold, from craftsmanship and cultural exchange to migration and memory, and learn more about how they came to be part of the museum’s collection.
