Parade, the first stage production designed by Pablo Picasso, was premiered in Paris 100 years ago today! Parade marked the arrival of modernity in Serge Diaghilev’s Ballets Russes and was notable for its collaboration between designer, composer, Erik Satie and choreographer, Léonide Massine. In conjunction with a special centenary display in the Theatre & performance Gallery, including the Chinese Conjuror’s costume, Jane Pritchard, Curator of dance, will shed new light on this controversial production.
