This event celebrates the publication of Collecting Spain: Collecting Spanish Decorative Arts in Britain and Spain, by highlighting the role of the V&A in acquiring objects and working with private collectors, dealers and experts between the mid-1850s and 1945. Short presentations will be given by co-editors Ana Cabrera Lafuente and Lesley Miller and curators Nick Humphrey, Kirstin Kennedy and Mariam Rosser-Owen on the genesis of the project and on collecting in the fields of textiles, furniture, silver and lusterware, and by conservator Victor Borges on discoveries made during the recent conservation of Spanish plaster casts.

This livestream is being held on Zoom, and all ticket holders will receive a link to view on the morning of the event. If you have not received your link by noon on the day of the event, please contact membershipevents@vam.ac.uk. The event will also be recorded and all ticket holders will receive a link to view within a week after the event.
