Why We Connect

We close out 2026 by reflecting on the significance of connection amidst a narrative of social division, economic inequality and fragmentation. This is a session about care, collaboration, friendship, joy and the quiet radical act of choosing to be in a room together. 

Positioning connection as a social, creative and radical act.  The session will begin with playful, skills-sharing activities that incorporate collaborations, conversations and making. Using these interactions to kick-off a broader conversation about what it means to find and sustain community.

Through facilitated discussions and activity, participants are invited to reflect on the creative communities they belong to and the year that has shaped them. 

Facilitated by Tito Mogaji, founder of Nourishment, a community and cultural agency focused on connecting underrepresented communities with arts and culture through curated experiences, campaigns and partnerships.

This event is for anyone living, working or studying in east London, aged 18+, emerging to established within the creative sector.  Booking is essential with limited spaces for on the day drop-in.

As part of the Ideas Exchange programme of interactive talks, this event will be documented through film, photography and live artist interpretation.
