'The soul of Poland', Edmund Dulac, 1917. E.3954-1934.'

The V&A has a long history of promoting Polish creativity. Join Curator of Prints Zorian Clayton to hear about the star objects representing the rich and unique history of the nation, from Renaissance treasures in the galleries to a large archive of ground-breaking 20th century graphic design. Charting several exhibitions over the past century on folk art, book illustration, textiles and puppetry from Poland, this year continues the tradition with the display 'Polish Posters Now!' (Gallery 74A) in collaboration with the Adam Mickiewicz Institute for the London Design Festival.

Zorian Clayton is Curator of Prints (1850-now) at the V&A. He is the curator of ‘Polish Posters Now!’, co-curator of the Aubrey Beardsley exhibition currently touring Japan, and ‘Fashioning Masculinities: The Art of Menswear’ (2022). Publications include ‘Calling the Shots: A Queer History of Photography’ (2024) and ‘The Poster: A Visual History’ (2020). Since 2016, he is also a programmer for the British Film Institute Flare Festival.
