The V&A’s Fashion collection is one of the largest and most comprehensive in the world, attracting millions of visitors. Through a series of talks and hands-on workshops, this one-week intensive course will guide you through how best to develop, manage and conserve your own fashion and dress collection. Joined by museum professionals from around the world, you will discover successful approaches developed at the V&A and at the institutions of fellow participants.

Course overview

This course offers a comprehensive insight into the V&A’s Fashion and Dress collections. You will be guided through the whole curation process, from collecting, to conservation and mounting, to ensure best practice can be applied to your own collections. All teaching is delivered by experts from the V&A and includes both talks and hands-on workshops to suit different styles of learning. You will also be invited to share real examples of projects from your institution that can be developed during and after the course.
