This is a landmark conference dedicated solely to highly decorative and beautiful Indigenous American coatings, bringing together scholars from both sides of the Atlantic.

An exciting opportunity to gain an overview on existing work as well as the latest investigations in the field of Colombian barniz de Pasto, Mexican lacquer and other Indigenous coatings, the conference covers the history, conservation and scientific research of these materials.

Whether you are already knowledgeable in the subject or completely new, this event will have much to offer and provide you with the opportunity to see how these objects were made.

With support from The Embassy of Colombia in the United Kingdom and the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation/The Embassy of Spain in London.

The conference will be live streamed with Microsoft Teams. Tickets are also available to enjoy the conference in person in our Hochhauser Auditorium.
