Take your photography skills to the next level with this unique opportunity to work with dancers. Taking inspiration from your live subjects and a visit to 'On Point: Royal Academy of Dance at 100' display, establish your own dance photography practice.
Day one will be spent with photographer Simon Tomkinson in the Lydia and Manfred Gorvy Lecture Theatre at the centre of the world’s leading museum of art, design and performance. Here you’ll learn how to work with and capture movements of performers, live tasks will be interspersed by talks on ‘capturing movement’ and ‘working with dancers’.
During the second day, Simon will introduce digital workflow tools and basic retouching to enhance your images. By the end of this workshop, you’ll have created impressive portfolio images and will be equipped with a foundation of knowledge to photograph dancers with confidence.
