Drawing on five years of research, the book explores the diverse and evolving world of contemporary Chinese studio crafts, bringing together artists, materials, places and communities to consider how studio craft is being practised and understood in China today, and the ecosystem that fertilises and sustains the field.

The event will begin with a lecture by the author, introducing some of the key ideas and stories behind the book. This will be followed by a book-signing and reception, offering an opportunity to celebrate the publication with colleagues, artists and friends. Copies of Contemporary Chinese Studio Crafts will be available to purchase at the event.
