Past Event

This relaxed, after work event for Primary and Secondary teachers will offer the chance to learn more about Caribbean and British-Caribbean designers, artists and makers through the lens of design in our collections. A chance to see and learn about key works and designers through objects, hear from contemporary creatives, educators and makers, and meet other teachers, participants will collect inspiration for marking the Windrush 75 anniversary in the classroom.

In the event, teachers will meet a specialist V&A tour guide who will share a selection of objects from the collection, followed by a chance to meet and learn about the work of artist and curator Basil Olton and then take part in a panel discussion and Q&A led by Dr Christine Checinska and Roselind Sinclair. The event will close with recommendations for further research, resources and opportunities for teachers and students from V&A staff and partners like The Black Curriculum
All materials and light refreshments will be included.
