On this tour meet the 19th century women who often had no choice but to resort to "nepotism" and use their male relatives -brothers, fathers, husbands- to showcase their own talents and kickstart their careers. V&A Guides Nicky Maitlis and Sandra Wolf will celebrate International Women's Day with the achievements of these accomplished and enterprising women -photographers, painters, silversmiths- who changed the public perception of the woman's role and led the way for the Suffragettes. In addition to visiting wonderful pieces from the V&A's collection, this tour also offers the unique opportunity to see original Suffragette memorabilia from a private collection.

Please note, this tour will involve extensive walking between galleries. If you have questions about accessibility, please contact the Membership Events team directly at membershipevents@vam.ac.uk.
