Drop in and discover the art of winding in this hands-on workshop inspired by the V&A South Asia Collection. Guided through simple techniques, you will create your own unique design to take away with you.
Nowshin Prenon is a London-based textile artist specialising in woven textile design. Her practice explores colour, material and process through handwoven and hand-dyed textiles, drawing inspiration from her Bangladeshi heritage, architecture and the natural world. She uses weaving and the winding process to explore themes of identity, memory and cultural connection. Passionate about preserving traditional textile crafts, Nowshin uses her work and workshops to share the art of weaving and winding, encouraging a greater appreciation of South Asian textile heritage, handmade processes and sustainable making.
This event is part of Aaram Hours, an evening of connection, creativity and community with free workshops, performances and food. Created by a collective of South Asian co-producers, Aaram Hours offers a space to convene, gather and rest (for ages 14-26).
