For this year’s V&A Christmas tree installation commission, London-based designers Isabel + Helen celebrate the festive season through light and movement. Inspired by the sky at night, the installation is formed of wind-powered turbines which rotate within their own orbit to collectively power the lights in the structure. The infinite transfer of wind energy into light sparks joy and optimism, illuminating the dark winter evenings.
Isabel + Helen is the London-based creative studio of Isabel Gibson and Helen Chesner. Since 2015, they have gained widespread recognition across art, fashion and culture for communicating ideas through movement and sculpture.
