The delicate petals and textured leaves of a beautiful pink peony are exquisitely captured against an opulent gold background. Ornate corner pieces feature a colourful pattern of tiny blossoms.
This elegant print is taken from a page of a lavishly illuminated Qur’an. Created in Istanbul in the second half of the 17th century, the sacred tome may be the work of Sultan Mustafa II, the first Ottoman prince recorded as being trained as a calligrapher, a tradition that continued for many generations.
Printed in the UK and supplied with a navy blue mount chosen to complement the artwork, this enchanting print would make a wonderful gift for someone special. Giclée printing captures fine detail and provides archival longevity, while the quality heavyweight paper holds rich, deep colours and gives a luxury, gallery-grade finish.
