Bring the opulent elegance of an Ottoman palace to your own home with this impeccable Iznik tile. An enchanting choice for a bathroom or a colourful update to a kitchen, the tile could serve as a one-off accent piece or to create a fully tiled space. Made in Turkey, the tile features a traditional pattern of intersecting shapes and stars extending into infinity, known as geçme, or the cosmic order of geometric lines; in Islamic art, geçme demonstrates that beyond the apparent chaos of the world lies mathematical order and harmony.
Iznik pottery refers to glazed ceramics produced primarily in Iznik in Anatolia, a cultural history originating during the reign of the Ottoman Empire. Known for its meticulous underglaze decoration technique and luminous colour palette, Iznik pottery commonly features the signature hues of deep cobalt blue, vibrant turquoise, emerald green and Armenian bole red.
