Maison Bengal
Maison Bengal’s goal is to provide some of the poorest people in Bangladesh with a decent and reliable wage. Working closely with local Fairtrade organisations, the company trains marginalised communities, particularly mothers and young women, in handicraft production. Maison Bengal only uses locally grown, natural jute and hogla (local sea-grass), the former, a rain-fed crop, which is eco-friendly and doesn’t require fertiliser or pesticides.
