Bring the marvels of the museum to life as you sip your morning coffee from this delightful peach mug, created exclusively for the V&A.
Illustrator and graphic designer Gavin Connell selected inspiring objects from the V&A collection, from a Victorian furnishing fabric to a 16th-century close helmet, a Siberian marriage coat to a French marble bust, and reinterpreted them as lively characters in his inimitable style.
Made of opaque milk glass in a soft pastel shade of peach, the mug is designed for everyday use: safe to put in the dishwasher and microwave and stackable to save space in the cupboard.

Gavin Connell
Inspired by 1930s animation, vintage comics and old school rave posters, designer and illustrator Gavin Connell’s work is packed full of playful references and characterful motifs. A graduate of the National College of Art and Design in Dublin, Connell continues to work in the city, creating original work in his signature bold graphic style.
In an exclusive collaboration with the V&A, Connell has chosen an array of objects from the museum collection, from a floral furnishing fabric to an 18th-century coffee pot, a French earthenware vase to a decorative comb, bringing the artefacts to life as a collection of curious characters adorning mugs, baseball caps and pin badges.
