The crowning glory for your Christmas tree, this ornate decoration is a tribute to Freddie Mercury, the unforgettable front man of Queen. The band’s name was chosen for its sense of power and elegance, and Queen’s logo featured a crown very similar to this one. Exquisitely embroidered with metallic threads, green and red beads and imitation pearls, the crown is fittingly flamboyant, ready to adorn your festive tree – or hang it up all year round as a nod to your favourite band.
See the real thing at the V&A - the splendid crown worn by Freddie Mercury onstage during the 1986 Magic Tour is on display as part of the Freddie Mercury: Splendid Things trail.
The decoration is made by St. Nicolas, a small London-based brand dedicated to designing original, interesting and meaningful keepsakes. The company has worked with a family-run business in northern India since 1999, creating Fair Trade decorations using the ancient zardozi embroidery technique.
