Inspired by the historic tile designs found in Porto, this needlepoint kit is a little slice of Portugal just waiting for your me-time. With everything you need included, it's just as easy for beginners as for seasoned makers to create a beautiful textural artwork to add a pop of character to your wall.
The complete kit is beautifully packaged, ready for gifting, and includes all you'll need for a high-quality finish.
Ceramic tiles, or “azulejos” as they are called in Portugal, are an important part of the country's history and culture. First brought by Moorish invaders from North Africa, "azulejaria" became a uniquely Portuguese art form. Today, these small works of art are ubiquitous on Portuguese buildings, turning blocks of flats into outdoor galleries.
The kit contains:
• Artwork printed in premium interlock canvas, with edges sewn with cotton bias tape;
• Two tapestry needles size 18;
• Flyer with the colour threads mapping so you can start stitching quickly;
• Threads with enough quantity to stitch with the continental tent stitch;
• Needlepoint booklet with instructions on starting needlepoint, tips for selecting needlepoint stitches, and a library of favourite stitches
Skill level - confident beginner.
