Mouse in floral loop necklace by Alex Monroe

In this exquisite range of jewellery created in collaboration with the V&A to celebrate the Alice: Curiouser and Curiouser exhibition, British designer Alex Monroe has taken inspiration from the quirky fun and mystical adventure so well captured by Lewis Carroll. A sense of all things British is key to the collection, uniting the classic eccentricity of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland with Monroe’s familiar themes of nature and wildlife; mice nestle in the hedgerows, secret gardens bloom with roses. Each design is infused with a magical, otherworldly essence to reflect Alice’s fall into Wonderland. 

These beautiful necklace captures a mouse in motion, surrounded by ornate flowers. Alice first encounters the mouse while swimming in the Pool of Tears, before he regales the animals with his lengthy tale on the riverbank.
