V&A Select is a new collection of artist prints commissioned by the V&A. Each print is available in an edition of just 75. The artists were chosen for the way their work connects with the V&A and creates the opportunity for a new dialogue with the collection.
 
Adam Bridgland’s bright, bold print commissioned by the V&A stands for joy, beauty, colour, play and hope. The painterly style is achieved by hand painting the layers in black ink onto tru-grain, a special acetate which when exposed onto screen mesh keeps the characteristics and subtleties of the original mark-making.
 
A graduate of the Royal College of Art living and working in Cambridgeshire, Adam has several works in the V&A collection. He is inspired by British popular culture and graphic traditions, drawing on nostalgia and reminiscence. His often playful and witty work features a clever interplay of word and image.
 
Created exclusively for the V&A.
