Bold colours and stylised floral forms characterise this elaborate work by French painter and designer Henri Gillet.

 

The print reproduces a plate taken from Gillet’s Nouvelles Fantaisies Décorative en Couleur, a compendium of 36 colourful compositions held in the V&A archive.
