Innovate: Creative Practice with Gayle Chong Kwan photo

Join artist and V&A resident Gayle Chong Kwan to hear all about her research and practice, and find inspiration and ideas for delivering creative, collaborative and multidisciplinary projects in your setting. Gayle works primarily with photography, sound, video and installation, creating extraordinarily fantastical landscapes and environments that exist somewhere between the imagination and reality. She makes structures of sensory waste, recycled materials and discarded objects that force the viewer to question and confront the reality of excessive consumption. Gayle's work is exhibited and published nationally and internationally, and is held in public and private collections.

In this talk Gayle will explore how a range of creative methods can be used to ask questions and provoke debate around real-world problems, and she will share ideas for creative, collaborative activities that can be run with your students, based on the site-specific, participatory workshops she runs as part of her practice.

V&A Innovate is an online resource hub, online teacher CPD programme, and National Schools Challenge for Key Stage 3. Free. Booking essential. Event suitable for Secondary School teachers and design education organisations/specialists. You must be over 18 to take part.
