We will start in the Fashion Galleries where we will briefly look at the aftermath of World War I in relation to 1910s and 1920s fashion and the government's promotion of exercise. We will then focus in on the innovation in 1930s sportswear, particularly swimwear, and its influence on everydaywear and eveningwear. The tour will end in the Theatre & Performance galleries where we will look at the influence of celebrities and films in popularising sports and a healthy body in the 1920s and 1930s.
