Businesswoman Zita Cobb has used cutting-edge architecture and design to revitalise the economy of her native community, the remote Fogo Island in Newfoundland. The furniture collection of the Fogo Island Inn (a community-owned social business) resulted from a dynamic collaboration between local makers and international designers.

Cobb, co-founder of the Inn and its parent organisation Shorefast Foundation, will discuss how design acted as a servant of people and place to mould a collection derived from the intellectual property of a centuries-old fishing community.

Zita Cobb will be in conversation with Ineke Hans
