It's About Time: Marysia Lewandowska in conversation with Ralph Rugoff photo

It’s About Time is a sound and film installation by Marysia Lewandowska that responds to the apparent absence of women from the V&A archives and The Historical Archives of Contemporary Arts in Venice. The project questions the mechanisms responsible for shaping the cultural spaces of the exhibition and the museum. A screening of the short film edited from footage found in the V&A collections will accompany a discussion situating the project within the wider context of Lewandowska’s practice.

Marysia Lewandowska is an artist based in London, whose practice explores the public function of archives, museums and exhibitions. Ralph Rugoff is curator of the 58th Venice Biennale and Director of the Hayward Gallery. The Pavilion of Applied Arts is a joint initiative between the V&A and La Biennale di Venezia and remains the only project between the Biennale and an international museum.
