Redefining Access: Taking Up Space photo
Step into dialogue with our Youth Collective as we explore how cultural spaces like museums can become places of welcome, accessibility, care and collective power. We’re asking who decides what is remembered and how can we preserve and protect our histories from erasure?

From creating your own archive, to sharing food, reflecting and exchanging bold ideas, this evening is all about connection and collective energy. Whether you’re passionate about activism, art or community - this evening is for you.

This is an invitation from the Youth Collective, come take up space with us and help shape V&A East Storehouse into a place that truly reflects its local community.

Event Programme:

Foyle Learning Centre (Workshops from 6-8.30pm)

Trash and Treasure. Write it, release it, rework it. This is an invitation to share your thoughts and opinions, let it go in the Youth Collective's archive bin, and respond creatively to what others are throwing away.

Printing Personhood. In this lino printing workshop we invite you to create your own stamp of East London, using symbols that represent each member of the Youth Collective. Together, mark your place and take up space.

Places and Pages. Explore your own voice and share words that capture your memories, experiences, and everyday life in this poetry workshop.

Taste and Talk. Gather around the table to eat, share stories and connect with other like-minded people. Food served by OITIJ-JO Kitchen and Blasian'd Kitchen.
