From medieval miniatures to Turner, Constable and Hockney, you will discover how artists over the centuries have conjured mood and movement with the lively and luminous medium of watercolour.

You will experiment with washes, blooms, spattering and dry brush techniques as well as everyday household items such as salt and clingfilm to add texture to your painting. You will then have the chance to apply these techniques to a study painting, using a fast, painterly approach to make the most of the medium’s fluidity.

This session will be held live on Microsoft Teams and will also be recorded. The recording will be emailed to participants after the live event, and will be accessible until Midnight GMT on Sunday 19th March 2023. Please note: Materials are not included, a list of readily available materials will be sent to you in advance of the session.
