Make it: Photography photo

Join artist Sara Shamsavari who works with photography, painting and fashion to explore and express your personality through portraits. Get inspired by Sara’s photographs and the work in the Photography Centre to create portraits that celebrate yourself, and your family.

Come to this workshop in your favourite outfit and experiment with fashion, fabrics, backdrops, and props to express yourself. Then find the perfect setting for your portrait in the museum. Take photos, using tips you'll learn to improve your portraits of people.

You'll come away from this workshop with a selection of your best photographs that you can frame at home!

All materials will be provided, all sourced sustainably.

No previous styling or photography experience is necessary.

The 10:30 workshop is recommended for ages 5-7; 13:00 is recommended for ages 8-10 and 15:00 is recommended for 11-13. Each workshop is 90 minutes long. Your pictures will be printed on the day, and will be available within 30 minutes from the end of the session.

Tickets are £15 minimum for one adult and child pair. You can add extra adult or child tickets to this booking. Please book one £7.5 ticket for each child and for each additional adult attending. Children must be always accompanied by an adult.

Please note that adults will be able to attend only if they've booked a child ticket too.
This is a families event for adults to take part in with their children; no child can be left unattended.

Please double-check that you are available for an event before booking tickets, we only offer refunds in exceptional circumstances. If the V&A needs to cancel the event due to an emergency, or for any reason beyond the control of the V&A, we will reschedule your booking for a later date. If it’s not possible to reschedule your booking, we will offer a full refund.
