Marie Antoinette Style: Museums and the Art of Scent

One-day course

+44 (0)20 7942 2000
Join us for the Study Morning for an introduction to olfactory curation with artist and historian Tasha Marks, founder of AVM Curiosities. Having worked in multi-sensory design in museums for over a decade, Tasha Marks’s latest project is the interactive scent experience at the heart of Marie Antoinette Style. In this fragrant study day, attendees will get to learn more about the process of re-creating the scents of Versailles, as well as exploring several of AVM’s past projects: including aromatic installations for the Royal Academy of Arts, Wellcome Collection and The National Trust – each with a perfume pairing to enhance the experience. Attendees will leave with a better understanding of olfactory art and the use of scent as a storyteller.

Learners will also be given an atomiser containing an exclusive sample of one of the scents developed by AVM curiosities, included in the exhibition Marie Antoinette Style.

Please note that due to the nature of the event, those with skin sensitivities should be aware when smelling scents. Gloves will be made available if preferred.

Suitable for participants aged 18 or over.
