Inside this Georgian townhouse beside Charing Cross is a sight to behold. The professional headquarters building houses the oldest optical museum in the world, started by the former British Optical Association in 1901. It now comprises all manner of eye-related items, including historic vision aids, opticians’ equipment and artistic representations of the seeing organ. Join us for a curator-led tour with a focus on the fine and decorative arts aspects of this eye-opening collection, particularly the paintings, prints, ceramics and jewellery.
