Discover books which each in their own way tell a story about people who were forced to leave everything behind... a long time ago, yesterday and today. Highlights will include the highly influential Religious Ceremonies of the World (1728) written and illustrated by two Huguenots, ephemera from the Reimann School of Art and Design, which had to move from Berlin to London in 1937, Alan Govenar's artist's book Midnight Song (1998), Incoming (2017) by documentary photographer Richard Mosse, and many more.

The National Art Library is at the heart of the V&A. Its collections are international in scope and span the centuries, with a particular focus on the fine and decorative arts, and the art of the book.
