Learn how to make natural inks and how images of nature can be used in design.

Past Event
Artist Nikki Gardham will guide you as a family to develop your own ‘live’ inks using spices and ordinary household ingredients. Get inspired by the collection to get thinking about images of nature, composition, and design. Using your inks, watercolour techniques, and resistance methods, you’ll explore creating your own designs inspired by nature.
Your family will come away with recipes for how to make natural inks, as well as a series of nature-inspired artworks.

The 10:30 workshop is recommended for ages 5-7; 13:00 is recommended for ages 8-10 and 15:00 is recommended for 11-13.
Tickets are £12 per child, children must be accompanied by an adult. Please book a free ticket for each accompanying adult. Please note that adults will be able to attend only if they've booked a child ticket too.
This is a families event for adults to do with children; no child can be left unattended.
Please double-check that you are available for an event before booking tickets, we only offer refunds in exceptional circumstances. If the V&A needs to cancel the event due to an emergency, or for any reason beyond the control of the V&A, we will reschedule your booking for a later date. If it’s not possible to reschedule your booking, we will offer a full refund.
