Come along to Anansi and the Lost Sun for a puppet show for all the family to celebrate traditional stories from Ghana, West Africa.
Experience the magical adventures of Anansi the Spider in a journey of strength: “Once upon a time, one day, darkness covered the face of the land. Lion called an assembly of all the animals of the forest to bring back the light and save the world.”
Who will succeed? The powerful eagle? The clever monkey? Or Anansi the spider and his mates? Through teamwork and courage, the community of animals discovers how powerful they can be when they join forces.
After the performance, make your own puppets to take home and discover more about how Anansi the spider, a character from West African tales, travelled with African slaves taken to the Caribbean and through the travel of their families to the UK with the Windrush generation and beyond.
BSL interpreted performances will take place on 30 March at 11:00, 13:00 and 15:00.
Each performance is approximately 40 minutes long. The first two sessions will be followed by a drop-in workshop where families can make their own puppet to take away with them. Sessions are free, starting at 11:00, 13:00 and 15:00.
The drop-in puppet making workshops will start at 11:50 and 13:50.
