Collecting as an Agent for Social Change photo

Images, and the practices that surround them, have the power to challenge, inform and change social behaviors. In this panel, industry experts reflect on work that renegotiates perspectives around race, history and experience, and discuss new approaches towards social engagement with photography.

Unseen Amsterdam is an art fair and contemporary photography festival. This panel is organized in collaboration with the V&A as part of Unseen’s ‘Living Room’ speakers’ programme bringing together photographers, industry professionals and scholars from across the globe. The series of talks aims to inspire and educate by triggering questions and provoking thought about some of the most current subjects in photography today.

Moderator: Margriet Schavemaker (Artistic Director Amsterdam Museum)
Speakers: Mark Sealy (Director Autograph ABP), Nadine Wietlisbach (Director Fotomuseum Winterthur), Marc Mouarkech (Director Arab Image Foundation), Marine Tanguy (Founder MTArt Agency)
