Women have been described as ‘missing’ from the history of photography. The current display in the Photography Centre, however, features a range of important women photographers. This talk will focus on them, from the pioneering portraits by Julia Margaret Cameron to the recently uncovered works by Isabel Agnes Cowper, the V&A’s first female official museum photographer.
Please meet in Gallery 100 to discover more about these women photographers and their significant contributions to the medium’s history.
