The V&A has always been innovative in its approach to museum display. It was the first museum in the world to install gas lighting, and developments in modern lighting always held a significant place within its collections. This study considers light in the museum, both as an aspect of interior design and as gallery illumination…
V&A Academy Unlocked days invite you behind the scenes, bringing you face-to-face with the V&A's extraordinary collections.
This Unlocked Study Day is designed to complement the course 'Art in 20th Century Europe' led by Dr Kathy McLauchlan but you do not need to be enrolled on any online course to join an 'Unlocked' event.
V&A Academy course director Dr Kathy McLauchlan, art historian and lecturer with the Arts Society, Morley College and Oxford University, will be joined by V&A Academy lecturer Justine Hopkins for this study day.
The speakers enthusiasm was contagious, the objects were beautiful, and being able to listen to experts talk about their subject is always a pleasure! Previous Unlocked Event Attendee
