Rama Gheerawo is an international and inspirational figure within design. As Director of the Helen Hamlyn Centre for Design at the Royal College of Art, he uses design to address society’s toughest issues from ageing and healthcare, to ability and diversity.

He is a serial innovator in the fields of Inclusive Design and Creative Leadership, having worked with companies, governments and communities across the globe. Empathy is at the heart of his practice and applied to over 100 projects he has lead. Design plays a key educational role as we navigate protest and pandemic, and Rama will look at how to create impactful projects and teach people-centred process.

He will share insights into his inclusive, human-centred design methodologies and showcase examples of projects from his work at the Helen Hamlyn Centre for Design and beyond, providing inspiration for delivering inclusive design projects in the classroom.

V&A Innovate is an online resource hub, online teacher CPD programme, and National Schools Challenge for Key Stage 3. Free. Booking essential. Event suitable for Secondary School teachers. You must be over 18 to take part. This event will be run using streaming platform Zoom, and after registering, you will receive a unique link in advance to access the event online. You will receive the link no later than 16.30 on the day of the event.
