To celebrate British Science Week, we’re offering a behind the scenes tour of the V&A Science Labs. Find out about the scientific analysis of objects, paintings and artefacts from the V&A’s collections.

Find out how art historians and scientists work together, detective-like, to trace their origins and uncover the hidden stories of historical objects. The session will also show how the V&A scientists use their understanding of artists’ materials to help preserve precious museum collections into the future.

This webinar will be streamed live to multiple schools and feature a Q&A with our V&A Scientists. By the end of the session your students will have discovered:
- How science is used at the V&A to reveal hidden histories behind objects
- Different types of scientific careers that exist in museums
- The collaboration between curators, conservators and scientists.
- Links between Science, Art and Design (STEAM curriculum)
