The Gilbert Collection is honoured to have Amin Jaffer, Director of The Al Thani Collection, delivering the 2022 Gilbert Annual Lecture. He will retrace the history of this celebrated collection as well as their generous programme to promote arts and culture.

The Al Thani Collection is renowned for its artwork from the Ancient to the present day, evoking high points of human creativity through a range of cultures and civilisations. These featured in world-class exhibitions and publications and have now found a new permanent home in Paris. After a most generous restoration programme, highlights of the collection are presented in the historic Hôtel de la Marine, a 18th century building created as the Garde-Meuble de la Couronne for Louis XV, which has been transformed into a contemporary and minimal set of galleries designed by architect Tsuyoshi Tane.  Along with an extensive exhibition portfolio, conference facility and international loans programme, this will be a truly fascinating insight into how this dynamic collection is curated.
