Schiaparelli Cosmic Ornament Workshop

Inspired by Elsa Schiaparelli's Cosmic collection of 1938 and the Phoebus Sunray cape, join textile artist Christine Leech for a creative, hands - on workshop to embroider a beautiful velvet hanging ornament. Choose from shocking pink or midnight blue, customise and embellish your own sun, moon or star ornament with embroidery and an array of beads and sequins. 

With step-by-step support throughout, you will learn simple embroidery and beading techniques to create a unique design. Once complete you will have the choice of making a stuffed ornament or a piece of hoop art. 

All materials provided, no experience necessary.

Christine Leech is a textile artist, designer and author with a passion for embroidery, colour and storytelling through stitch. Christine specialises in creating imaginative embroidered objects and characters, often working with wool felt, hand stitch, beads and found materials. Her playful and accessible approach encourages people to experiment, embrace colour and discover the joy of making something with their own hands.
