Become face to face with everyday life in Cairo in the 19th century with this curator-led guided tour
Curators Ella Ravilious and Dr. Omniya Abdel Barr will talk through the formation of the display 'Cairo Streets', and how these photographs have relevance for conservation and restoration work in Cairo today. Explore historic photographs of local people going about their daily lives and see examples of turned wood window screens, called mashrabiyyah, which gave a characteristic visual flavour to Cairo’s streets.
