The V&A has been acquiring photographs since the 1850's and the collection has grown to be one of the largest and most important in the world. Coinciding with the opening of our new Photography Centre, this course will present an overview of the history of the medium, taught by the team of specialists who care for this diverse collection. During sessions in the Prints & Drawings Study Room, you will have the opportunity to view up-close magnificent original works not currently on display, from rare early treasures by the inventors of photography to twentieth century masterpieces and cutting-edge contemporary pictures. Part of the V&A Photography Spotlight.
