Get inspiration for your V&A Innovate projects from artist, architectural designer and creative practitioner Seyi Adelekun. Adelekun’s sustainable and collaborative practice explores shared spaces, the public realm and community engagement. Her practice focuses on the exploration of materiality and the process of making as a tool to connect people together within their built environment in a sustainable way.

Holly Burton, National Schools Programme Producer at the V&A will also share examples of previous V&A Innovate projects and tips for taking part this term. V&A Innovate is an annual National Schools Challenge asking students in years 7, 8 and 9 to design a solution to a real-world problem. Find out more at vam.ac.uk/innovate

Seyi Adelekun sees the public arts as a creative and accessible platform to engage the wider public with prevalent issues in society. She enjoys creating fun and interactive installations that elevates our human experience. Seyi delivers workshops, teacher resources and CPDs that encourage young people to creatively learn about themselves and the world around them through design.

She currently works at the award-winning practice Assemble, collectively holding the role as artist-in-residence to develop a social centre for housing rights and land reform in Spitalfields. Seyi is a Black Females in Architecture Advocate who cares about designing inclusive spaces that address the inequalities prohibiting marginalised people from accessing spaces.
