Designing for Downton photo
Over its multi-year run on television and on film, Downton Abbey has become one of the most popular period dramas of all time, with costume playing a key part in illustrating the rapidly transforming world of the Crawley family.

Costume designer Anna Robbins was twice nominated for a Primetime Emmy for her work on later seasons of the television series, before going on to design the costumes for the films. This includes the final instalment,  Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale, set in the 1930s, and opening in cinemas from 12 September.

Join her in conversation with V&A Curator of Film Emily Harris for a look at the creative process involved in bringing the world of Downton Abbey to life on screen through costume, and her career journey along the way.

Not able to join us at South Kensington? This talk will also be livestreamed.
