Inspired by Balenciaga’s exquisite designs and the fast changing image of wearable technology, this workshop will focus on embroidery and its intersection with technology, designing a connected embroidery piece with analogue electronics.

During this 3-day workshop participants will learn the basics of analogue and digital electronics with Arduino, and they will design and execute their own connective embroidery piece with a 21” Wacom interactive pen display and a Brother embroidery and sewing machine. Designs will be inspired by the Balenciaga: Shaping Fashion exhibition and under the guidance of Elena Corchero, a multi award-winning innovator specialising in smart materials and wearables.

Suitable for beginners. All materials provided.

Led by Elena Corchero, Director at Lost Values Creative Lab and former MIT Researcher.
