Past Event
The archives hold the historic records of the House of Commons and the House of Lords from 1497 to the present day. Members will visit the store where Acts of Parliament are kept, be shown a display of documents and be given a presentation and short introduction to the work of the archives. Please note the Parliamentary Archives are situated in the Victoria Tower and, for reasons of emergency evacuation, all visitors must be able to ascend and descend a spiral staircase without a stick. The visit will also involve the use of two or three lifts and all attendees must carry photographic ID.
