Built between 1607 and 1612 Charlton House is one of the finest surviving Jacobean manor houses in the country. The grounds have undergone a number of changes over the past four centuries, but remain evocative of times gone by. Members are invited for a tour of this fascinating building whose surviving features include the Gateway Arch, Summerhouse, Roman Stone and what is thought to be the first mulberry tree introduced into England.
